Is there a cost to move my existing WordPress website to The WP Guy?
90% of the time migrations are free! Typically migrating from your old host will take about 1-hour, when I’ve got all the necessary access. Occasionally, a complex or large site will need a few hours to migrate, in which case I’ll let you know prior. To find out if your migration is free, get in touch and I’ll do a quick check to let you know.
What about “Domain Names” and “DNS”?
I’m more than happy to act as a reseller for a domain name – e.g. mydomain.co.nz if you’d like to bundle everything together. However, I tend to leave domain name registration directly between you and a a reliable NZ based registrar. I can also manage DNS zones for you if required. Any DNS A-record changes I make are done with a test-first approach – this means that your website won’t go offline whilst migrating to my platform.
What about email?
In my view, business email-hosting is best served through a specialised email provider. My two go-to recommendations are either Google’s G Suite or Microsoft’s Office365, these are very affordable starting at $10 and $6 (respectively) per inbox, per month. These email services are far more reliable, have great spam filtering, are super easy to connect to a mobile phone/tablet and have business-grade support. If your existing email is bundled with your web-hosting I’d usually suggest migrating you to either GSuite or O365 prior to the website move. If you need help doing this, I can optionally migrate you over for (usually) $100 per email inbox.
